Description
This Know How article will outline how to apply the Let's Encrypt SSL certificate on the AhsayCBS server.
Solution
To use the Let's Encrypt SSL certificate, it needs to generate the SSL certificate from a 3rd party client first and then upload the generated certificate to AhsayCBS.
It uses the ACME protocol to verify that you control a given domain name and to issue you a certificate, you will need to choose an ACME Client software to use.
Check the Let's Encrypt website for supported ACME clients that you can use.
After generating the certificate, follow the steps below:
- Manually generate the CSR using AhsayCBS. Go to System Settings > Basic > General > SSL Certificate.
- Click the Create button then select Generate Csr and fill out the details then click Next.
- Copy the CSR code, click OK then Save.
- Use one of the 3rd party ACME clients to have Let's Encrypt sign your CSR and issue the SSL Certificate.
- Once you receive the SSL Certificate from Let's Encrypt, import it to AhsayCBS along with the Intermediate Certificate. Go to System Settings > Basic > General > SSL Certificate and click the SSL Certificate that you just generated.
- Upload the SSL Certificate and Intermediate Certificate, click OK then Save.
- Add the SSL Certificate to the HTTPS Connector. Go to System Settings > Basic > General > Connectors.
- Click on the HTTPS connector and in the SSL Certificate field, select the Let's Encrypt SSL Certificate from the dropdown. Click OK then Save.
